Teaching Kids to Obey Jesus {audio only think aloud chat}

This is another audio-only free think about some aspects of teaching kids obedience, shared casually over my kitchen sink. These free flowing thoughts are a bit of a birds-eye view from 17 years of parenting six kids (ie. lots of years not being able to ignore the realities of obedience!).

There’s something about having a large number of children which forces you to feel the weight of teaching obedience in the early years. While laying the foundations of obedience for the youngest kids, you’re feeling the effects of either having done it poorly or well as the older kids move into new stages. And all the while, it can be easy to reduce obedience to mere rule keeping and restraint. But it is so much more wonderful than that…
